COCAS 07

Most probably the last conference, where I played active role... We have another meeting in May (CasGo - planning meeting), but as I heard, it is small meeting, where only EB members and MC meet, which means around 15 - 20 people. By that I don't want to say, that COCAS was somehow big, there were around 25 delegates, little bit more than 30 people at whole site... I miss 200 people conferences (managing around 35 trainings delivered by alumni in three blocks, having TopAlky competition of 16 teams, needing microphone at the plenary...).

But still COCAS was quite a good conference. The site again surprised me, but this time, it was a little bit different - no pool, no open space plenary, no amazing meetings rooms. Site was situated in Costa-rican mountains, so it was relatively cold there - sometimes I had to take something with long sleeves and long pants. And if I was sometimes cold (when the temperature dropped under 20 degrees), can you imagine delegates from Panama, where at that time was around 35 degrees?

But the real surprise came during the night, when we were not able to find blankets and the whole MC was sleeping in sweaters, long pants, caps... and still we all were cold. I assume the temperature dropped to around 10 degrees, which was too much even for me and Marting (Canada). Even more interesting was the morning, when Magaly finally found the blankets...

Another specific of this conference, was the Czecho-slovak presence at the conference. I mentioned, that I met an AIESEC alumnus from Slovakia, who was in the Costarican MC few years ago. We met again, as Zana was chairing our conference and plus there were 50% of all CAS trainees (=1) at the conference (=Premek). And you can guess, what we have done at the first party...

Buchana!

Also the second party was a cool one - OC had idea of having "Graffiti party" - all delegates were supposed to bring the white T-shirt and OC brought lot of markers, colors... The outcome was impressive:

We have finished the conference with official dinner - after awarding LCs and having dinner we had approximately one hour of picture making...:

And of course the MC picture. And of course the incomplete MC picture. We have realized, that since the very beginning of the term we haven't met as the whole team. We were very close at this conference, but Martin had to leave the conference on the second day in the morning and Tati came in the afternoon...

Back to CR

No - I didn't come to Czech Republic, I came back to Costa Rica. After 18 days spent in Slovakia (there wasn't day without alcohol... hmm) I am ready for most probably last 5 months of my active AIESEC career... Well let's enjoy the rest as the previous 5 years... Here are few picuters from my trip (this time it was "only" 19,5 hours).

Boeing 747-400 - 500+ passengers...

The same plane, but 10 hours later in Caracas, Venezuela

Home, sweet home

I was looking forward to see Kosice again, family, friends, spend some time not thinking about work, school, nothing... I needed a rest a lot and the Christmas vacations helped me a lot to recover and "recharge" my batteries to the second half of my year in Central America.

There is not much I can write about, I came back to the "normal" Christmas mood and habits - eating, sleeping, drinking, eating, meeting friends, sleeping, eating... Yes - the word eating is being repeated several times. The kilograms, which I gained during the czech MC term and successfully lost during the first half of the CAS MC term found their way back to my body and I am again over my normal weight. But it was kind of expected...

After last very successful New Year's celebration we have decided to meet again in the same village and spend few days in Liptovska Teplicka in "the oldest cottage in the village" - I am just curious, how many locals are saying that about their cottage.Unfortunately there was no snow, and half of the delegation was carrying the ski for two reasons ("na hovno a na nic"). The second half was smart enough to leave the ski at home... So we did at least some tours.

According to the quote of my uncle, that "For the good skiing trip you don't even need the snow" we enjoyed the time despite the weather conditions and games like "Clovece, napij se" and "Machacek" were very successful (Ondro ;), do you trust me?).

On the 31.12. was planned "official dinner" in restaurant. As it was very far (approximately 200m), we had to strenghten ourselves...

...and then we moved to famous "Turnicka" and enjoyed hilarious Slovak cuisine.
To summarize it in few words - there were people, who came from London (Anet), Turkey (Zdenka), Rotterdam, Middle East (Ondro), Ghana (Kyslik), Panama, Costa Rica (me) and all of us had photos, we even had beamer, but we just didn't have time to watch the pictures, we had perfect time even without them...
